Come explore felting, the exciting, colorful and clean medium of “sculpting” with wool fleece to create detailed soft figurative sculptures. We will start by creating a wire skeleton or armature and then use special barbed needles to build figures, first in natural un-dyed wool and then in color. Students will learn about structure, proportion, blending wool to create accurate skin tones, facial features, applying hair and finally how to dress your figure if you wish, all with wool fleece. No sewing or glueing. Prior felting or sculpture experience is not necessary, but it helps. Subjects could be you, or a fantasy figure(mermaid or fairy…), your grandchild, a favorite artist, or a historical figure. You will be amazed at the possibilities! www.jenniferfieldstudios.com
